Assistant Manager

Bramley House, Mere, BA12 6JN

Full-time, permanent

£36,000 – £37,440 per annum, depending on experience

A genuine opportunity to help lead an established, high-quality care home.

Bramley House is looking for an experienced and confident Assistant Manager to join our management team.

Part of the family-owned Bramley Care Group, Bramley House is a beautiful residential care home in Mere, providing high-quality, person-centred care for older people in a warm and genuinely homely environment.

This is an important role within the home. We are looking for someone who is ready to step beyond a traditional senior care position and work closely alongside our Registered Manager, taking an active role in the day-to-day leadership, quality and smooth running of Bramley House.

The role

As Assistant Manager, you will support the Registered Manager across all aspects of the home and be confident taking responsibility in their absence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day management and leadership of the home

  • Providing visible leadership and support to the care team

  • Maintaining high standards of person-centred care

  • Supporting care planning, reviews and risk assessments

  • Monitoring care delivery and completing quality and compliance audits

  • Supporting safeguarding, medicines management and health & safety

  • Helping to manage, supervise and develop staff

  • Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management

  • Assisting with resident assessments, admissions and enquiries

  • Building positive relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals

  • Helping ensure the home remains fully compliant with CQC regulations and Bramley Care standards

  • Taking responsibility for the home when the Registered Manager is absent

Who we're looking for

We are particularly interested in someone who already has significant experience within residential care and is ready to take the next step in their management career.

You should be:

  • An experienced senior carer, team leader, deputy or assistant manager within an older people's care setting

  • Knowledgeable about CQC requirements and good governance

  • Confident managing and supporting a team

  • Organised, dependable and comfortable taking responsibility

  • Able to identify problems and, importantly, follow them through to resolution

  • A strong communicator with staff, residents, relatives and professionals

  • Passionate about maintaining dignity, choice, independence and a genuinely homely environment

A relevant Level 3 qualification is expected, with Level 4 or Level 5 desirable. We will support further professional development for the right person.

About Bramley House

Bramley House is not a large corporate care home. We are part of a small, established, family-run care group where the owners and senior management remain closely involved in our homes.

We believe good care comes from knowing our residents, supporting our staff properly and creating a home in which people genuinely enjoy living and working.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to become a key member of the management team, have real influence over how the home operates and develop their career within the wider Bramley Care Group.

Salary

£36,000 – £37,440 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Full-time, permanent position.

If you are an experienced care professional looking for a management role where you can make a genuine difference to both residents and staff, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
