Do I need Wi-Fi to use Bramley Pre-Care?​

Bramley Pre-Care requires an internet connection, so can either be connected to your existing Wi-Fi network or if you do not have this we can supply a Sim-based router, plus a monthly data allowance for an additional charge.

What are the range of the sensors?

The Package for the kit is designed for an average size home. If the property is larger additional sensors can be purchased to make sure the whole property is covered, and the service user isn’t at risk of a fall.

​​How do I update personal details?

The Beanbag care team will happily support you to update your details, just give them a call or drop them an email on bcc@securemeters.com.

How do I monitor each sensor?

The system will be paired up to each of the sensors, according to your requirements. The system works as a solution and there is no need for you to monitor the individual sensors. The app will send alerts if it identifies any areas which are out of the 'usual range' for each individual's personal routine. It will only give you data when it is required, making it a simple and easy solution to use.

How do I set up alerts, notifications and reminders?

Alerts, notifications and reminders can be set up to support the service user, this is done by Bramley Pre-care or Beanbag Care’s Team on our portal. These could be prompts to remind them to take medication or for nutritional and hydration intake. 

Alerts come through to the responder app when something happens out of the service users normal routine, or if something has happened like a fall, or temperature notification. Again, these alerts and information only arrive as and when required, giving you information when needed and endless data to scroll through, keeping it simple and easy to use.

How do I protect mine or my loved one's privacy? 

We understand that privacy is important to you and your loved ones, that is why our systems don't record video or sound. Furthermore, all data is stored securely on encrypted servers.

How many users can access the data?

Only the responders that are connected to the service user can access the data. This includes the care providers and the carers using the carers app too.

Can I add more sensors to my package?

Yes, additional sensors can be purchased/hired on an individual basis in order to enhance your package.

I like my privacy and don’t want people watching me or knowing what I am doing.

Beanbag Care doesn’t use cameras, microphones or any equipment that can ‘see’ what you are doing. It will monitor your movement and only reports to your loved ones and emergency services when you are in trouble, e.g. after a fall.

I don’t want to lose my carers and have to rely on technology instead.

Technology is in no way designed to replace care, it is there to help enhance the care you receive  you are getting the support you need and provide a service when carers are not with you.

I hate technology, I can never work out how to use it and worry I will break it.

Our system is easy to use. The tablet that is your control centre was designed in conjunction with the older people’s forum in Bristol and consists of only a few buttons to enable you to be in control of your environment, care, and to get in touch with people when needed.

I am far too busy to be an emergency contact, what if my dad falls and I miss it?

When the system detects a problem the first person to be alerted or notified is a responder, this can be a family member or friend, but the system will always escalate emergencies to a team of trained staff to call for help if responders are not available.

What happens if something goes wrong with my system?

Please do not worry, the system is designed to ensure that it will report any issues to us as soon as they arise. We may be able to resolve these issues without even visiting your home, but on the rare occasion where it requires maintenance, our team will be in touch to arrange a visit.

I don’t need the system, I am able to look after myself.
